"The ‘can-do’ attitude to problem solving on and off site was instrumental in delivering the product to the client who in turn were vociferous in their praise for the completed project"

ProCure21 Off-site construction solutions

ProCure 21 is a relatively new method of construction procurement established by the Government to fast track facilities into the NHS Estate.

ProCure21 aims to provide facilities that fall outside the general size and scope of projects that would be a PFI and en masse, this represents a vast array of capital projects to be delivered in the next 10 years or so.

The stated aims of the ProCure21 system have been to:
  • increase productivity by 30%
  • reduce cost by 10%
  • reduce reliance on on-site labour
  • utilise the principles of pre-assembly and pre-fabrication.

A national tender was conducted and 11 of the Nation's major building companies were awarded ProCure21 status. The successful companies are now in a position to negotiate directly with the Trusts to provide consultancy and construction services without going through a traditional tender process. Working with some of the ProCure21 teams, ModuleCo has provided many facilities, including operating theatres, imaging suites, wards and mortuaries.

The ProCure21 companies are:
  • Costain
  • Balfour Beatty
  • Integrated Health Projects (Norwest Holst and Sir Robert McAlpine)
  • HBG
  • Interserve
  • Kier
  • Laing O’Rourke
  • Medicinq

ModuleCo is able to offer a full design service including architectural services under a ProCure21 contract as well as the production, delivery, erection and commissioning of complex healthcare facilities, for either decant or permanent use.
