ModuleCo Building Awards Off Site Facility of the Year Winner 2020 Image

ModuleCo facilities are award winning. Our Orthopaedic Operating Theatre and Ward Complex at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham won ‘Off Site Project of the Year 2020’.

Why ModuleCo?

Acute Mental Health facilities are designed to assist patients in overcoming their individual challenges, whilst also satisfying some of the most robust regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector.

Many patients who access Acute Mental Health facilities can be sensitive to their environment and surroundings. Newer, purpose-designed Acute Mental Health facilities are associated with improved progression with treatments and a reduction in negative behaviours towards staff.

Acute Mental Health Units designed and built by ModuleCo, be it for Day Care, Psychiatric Intensive Care, De-Escalation and Seclusion, Place of Safety, Electroconvulsive Therapy or Acute Assessment Units, allow your team to provide safe, effective care in the least restrictive environment.

Our in-house healthcare design specialists are able to provide bespoke, purpose built, state-of-the-art HBN 03-01 compliant modular mental health facilities to meet your individual and unique needs from 15 weeks.

Up to 90% of the Acute Mental Health units will be completed and fitted-out in our off-site assembly facility which will keep site disruption to a minimum.

What Makes ModuleCo Different?

We focus on five core principals when designing for the Acute Mental Health environment:

  • Offer a high quality, comfortable and therapeutic space suitable for patients in acute distress.
  • Provide patients with privacy and the staff with control over the environment.
  • Ensure the highest levels of security and safety are maintained throughout the facility.
  • Allow for appropriate segregation, if required, whether on the basis of gender, vulnerability, frailty or illness.
  • Use architectural finishes which reduce noise, vibration and impact from external conditions.

The selection of specialist fixtures and finishes is carefully considered within our Acute Mental Health designs. From anti-ligature light fixtures, sealed and solid ceilings, anti-barricade doors, unobtrusive physical security measures, through to the correct selection of window and door furniture, door closers and hinges, taps, shower heads, coat hooks and curtain rails.
