Case Study:

Operating Theatre Suite at Ipswich Hospital – Suffolk, United Kingdom

ModuleCo provided a new state-of-the-art podiatric foot and ankle surgery theatre at Ipswich hospital, part of the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

We offered a turnkey project from order to handover, including the design, delivery and installation podiatric surgery unit, as well as the enabling works. The facility was procured as a flexible hire through our partners at ModuleCo Healthcare.

General Manager – foot & ankle surgery at Ipswich hospital, Wendy Webb said: “This new modular podiatric theatre suite will be pivotal in helping us to tackle the growing surgery waiting list as we begin to clear the backlog caused by COVID-19.

“A modular solution has significantly decreased the overall delivery time and will allow our surgeons to begin benefitting from the new facility much quicker when compared with traditional alternatives. Being able to hire the facility has also allowed us to reserve capital for investment elsewhere in the hospital.

“The facility will replace the former mobile facility and we’re confident that the modular approach will provide us with the long-term resilience required to respond to the ever-changing patient demand.

“It’s been great to collaborate with MCH throughout the entire development of the project, ensuring the new modular theatre is completely bespoke to suit the unique needs of both healthcare workers and patients.”
