Our in-house design team has 20 years of experience in modular building techniques and over 15 years of expertise in specialist healthcare facility design. Their designs are tailored to each hospital and healthcare application, including surgical units, wards, diagnostic imaging, and other specialist facilities, with full consideration given to HTM and HBN guidance and recommendations.

Accredited on the NHS Shared Business Services, Crown Commercial Service, and NHS Commercial Solutions frameworks, we simplify procurement through fast-tracked, OJEU-compliant processes. We offer flexible procurement options to suit a wide range of requirements, including both purchase and hire solutions. Our IFRS16-compliant hire agreements range from no minimum term up to 15 years and provide the same exceptional quality facilities as our purchase options.

We are the #1 provider of operating theatres to the NHS. Having built more than 150 state-of-the-art theatres, our team understand precisely what clinical professionals expect from a high quality surgical facility. 

Designed in compliance with HBN 26, our standard theatre suite features a 62m2 operating room with an integrated scrub and 3 metre ceiling height. Layout and equipment is designed to suit the intended surgical use, catering to all specialities.

Hospital Wards and In-Patient Facilities

Our modular hospital wards are designed to prioritise the experience of the clinical teams that work in them and the patients who are treated in them.

We have developed our designs in collaboration with clinicians over two decades, delivering all types of ward accommodation in that time. Our hospital wards are designed in compliance with Healthcare Building Note (HBN) 04-01, placing the needs of both patients and clinical teams at the centre of the design to ensure comfort, functionality, and efficiency.

Diagnostic and Imaging Units

We build a wide range of complex diagnostic imaging units, including but not limited to community diagnostic centres, MRI, CT, PET-CT, X-ray, endoscopy, and cardiac catheterisation laboratories. We have worked with all major equipment suppliers, including Philips, Siemens, and GE, and have a thorough understanding of the complexities involved in installation, as well as the specific requirements associated with each facility type and clinical specialism.

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Four Theatre Hub

ModuleCo delivered a modular surgical hub at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, providing a turnkey solution that included enabling works, a full design package, the modular facility, traditional construction elements, and landscaping. More than half of the operating theatres at RNOH, one of the highest rated orthopaedic hospitals in the world, have been delivered by ModuleCo.

Barking Community Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre

ModuleCo delivered a turnkey Community Diagnostic Centre for Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust at Barking Community Hospital. It was one of the first of the forty new community diagnostic facilities pledged by the government to be funded for the NHS.
