Single and MULTI Operating Theatre Suites
Modular Operating Theatre Suites
Our modular single theatre suites provide flexible HBN 26 compliant capacity expansion with an adaptable arrangement which can be designed to fit even the most challenging sites. The standard theatre suite footprint is 144m2 and features a 62m2 operating room with a 3m ceiling height and integral scrub.
Our twin operating theatre design is optimised into a total footprint of 288m2. Single and twin theatres can include additional accommodation such as first and second stage recovery wards, theatre stores, staff welfare, offices and consultation rooms, dirty access, and bin stores.

Designed for Contemporary Surgery
ModuleCo’s modular theatres are designed for the requirements of modern day surgery.
They already posses the required floor vibration performance for use of lasers and robotics, with a number of our theatres becoming home to the latest Da Vinci Robot.
A larger operating room can be incorporated into the design when the clinical use dictates greater space for additional staff and robotic or imaging equipment.
Orthopaedic Surgery
Orthopaedic surgery requires as many as seven instrument trolleys at any one time, so a large and flexible space is required for clinical teams to operate in the theatre effectively.
The suite contains the critical areas required to run orthopaedic surgery, includes the operating room with integrated scrub for three people, anaesthetic room, sterile pack store or lay-up prep, dirty utility, IPS/UPS and linking corridor.
Per the HBN 26 recommendations, our orthopaedic operating theatres are equipped with a laminar flow ultra-clean theatre ventilation system, which can be ‘set-back’ when not carrying out procedures.

Laparoscopic Surgery
A state-of-the art operating theatre from ModuleCo offers the spatial requirements for laparoscopic procedures and the supporting accommodation can be design to suit.
Our theatre wall makeup is sufficiently robust to allow for the installation of large television monitors to support the laparoscopic surgery procedures.
Maternity Operating Theatre
Maternity operating theatres features a 62m2 operating room with a three-metre ceiling height and integral person scrub.
The operating room includes additional medical gas outlets and space to facilitate incubators and neonatal ventilation equipment.
We can provide additional, client-specific supporting space to enable wider use. For example, in obstetric procedures the anaesthetic is often administered in the theatre, but we can include an anaesthetic room within the suite to enable administration of spinal/epidurals in elective
caesarean sections, and allowing greater privacy for catheterisation.

Hybrid Operating Theatre
We offer hybrid theatres designed around the specialist equipment and the clinical use of the facility. Working closely with the end users, we consider the engineering requirements of the imaging equipment whilst creating a spaces that maximise clinical efficiency. The location of all equipment is coordinated during the design phase, ensuring an optimal environment for your surgical teams.
Our hybrid theatres accommodate shielding requirements, such as lead lining, and the complex supporting structures required by the equipment. This includes multi-tier lighting systems, movable pendants as well as full integration into imaging software and audio-visual equipment.

“It’s like a cathedral to ophthalmology in a way. It’s large and shiny with all the latest equipment. Everything is new. I’ve never been inside a more space-age theatre in all my life. It’s probably the best theatre we have in Wales for eye care.”
Swansea Bay University Health Board partnered with ModuleCo to build multiple ophthalmic day surgery units
